My Family

  • Meet my family:

My husband and best friend of 42 years is Nick. He's retired from the computer industry. He loves golf, his family, golf, driving his antique car, golf, being involved with his church, golf, an occasional poker game, golf, doing projects around the house and golf. The only problem: he does not play golf nearly as much as he could and should. Here he is holding our 3 hour old grandson.

Here is my son Will and daughter-in-law Kari. Will and Kari moved to Sarasota after many years in Washington DC. Will works as a systems manager for a company that does computerized notifications (ok -- I'm sure I got it wrong somehow!) Kari is a project manager for Honeywell. They recently presented us with a wonderful grandson; we just hope he survives his father's weird sense of humor.

Here's Grant and does he look like his father did as a baby!

Meet my daughter Amelia and her "best beau" Zac. Amelia is a neuroradiologist who surprised us all by returning to Sarasota to practice after spending 9 years in Washington D.C. and 5 years in Miami. She's adjusting to "small town" life again. Her beau is a fantastic man who is a reporter for the local newspaper. Can he write an interesting story!

No family is complete without animals. We have three. Watson is an 18 year old ginger tabby who is on his 12th life and still hanging in there. He's camera shy now that he has a cauliflower ear and an ulcerated eye. Eleanor is the alpha critter -- a 10 year old Siamese who intimidates any and almost everyone -- except for our 2 year old West Highland terrier, Elizabeth Dalrymple (aka Liddie) who considers Eleanor just another big rat to chase around the house.

Well, setting up a blog is interesting but a challenge. I'll keep trying to "refine" my project.

Linda in Sarasota

This is my first attempt at creating a blog. Though I was in the computer industry longer than many of you have been alive, blogs are a new to me. I want to share some of the things that I love about our beautiful city and about the things I do here.

More as time permits.
